The guardian horse, Shah Kamal, Reddamma Talli and the underground-structure traditions: each account separates the story, the record and what remains unknown.
Traditions are part of the town’s cultural life. Respecting them also means being clear about what they can—and cannot—establish.
ORAL TRADITION
A local tradition associates Hazrat Shah Kamal with Tipu Sultan’s education or spiritual formation at Gurramkonda.
The education tradition was supplied in the project’s research brief; documentary confirmation has not been established. The linked modern account mentions Shah Kamal but does not verify that education claim. Shah Kamal and Kamaluddin/Kamar-ud-din remain separate research identities.

The guardian horse belongs to Gurramkonda’s recorded local legend.
Bhandare describes the Telugu name as Horse Hill and records a guardian-horse myth. This documents a tradition, not supernatural protection or a particular horse breed.

How this source is used: Research based on coin specimens. Some older Gurramkonda attributions are explicitly rejected; undated coins do not establish a precise year.
Reddamma Talli is remembered through devotional and regional tradition.
In the linked devotional version, Reddamma finds refuge in a hill and becomes an object of worship. Its unnamed Nawab is not identified here with any historical ruler. Other versions need their own attribution; miraculous events are beliefs rather than verified events.
