ORAL HISTORY / COMMUNITY MEMORY
Memory belongs in the archive.
ORAL TRADITIONOral histories preserve how Gurramkonda is remembered by its communities. They are presented as memory or tradition unless independent documentary evidence establishes the historical claim.
Recording a memory should include the speaker’s name or agreed attribution, consent, recording date, interviewer and relevant place or community context. Respect for a tradition includes preserving its voice and being honest about its evidence category.
