Antique Gurramkonda publishes a historical claim only as strongly as its evidence allows. Sources stay visible, disagreements remain explicit, and unanswered questions remain open.
HOW TO READ THE ARCHIVE
Six evidence classifications.
Credible evidence exists; important details still need corroboration.
Sources disagree. Their differences remain visible rather than being combined into a new certainty.
A cultural, devotional or locally preserved account; not established documentary history.
A question or clue awaiting evidence. It is not a factual conclusion.
Not suitable to present as historical fact on the evidence currently available.
Unsupported or rejected material is retained as an internal research safeguard when useful. It is not promoted as a public historical story or a sensational claim.
HOW WE RESEARCH
Claims begin with records.
Each claim should point to an identifiable publication, archive catalogue, object record, image source or attributed oral account. A source can support a limited statement without proving every later interpretation attached to it.
CONFLICTING ACCOUNTS
Disagreement remains visible.
When sources give different dates or sequences, the archive records the conflict. It does not silently choose one account or combine both into a new certainty.
ORAL TRADITIONS
Memory is treated with respect.
Oral history documents how people remember a place or event. It remains community memory or oral tradition unless independent evidence supports a historical conclusion.
UNMAPPED PLACES
Every point needs evidence.
A monument is mapped only when a reliable source supports its location and precision. A name, photograph or visual guess is not enough to create a coordinate.
UNPUBLISHED IMAGES
Identification is not permission.
An image may remain unpublished while its creator, ownership, reuse rights, date or monument identity is unresolved. Artistic interpretations are never used as documentary proof.
SOURCE TRANSPARENCY
Readers can follow the trail.
Source titles, authors or institutions, dates, catalogue references and links are shown when recorded. Missing metadata stays missing rather than being reconstructed.
CORRECTIONS POLICY
Historical research evolves.
If stronger evidence contradicts an existing interpretation, Antique Gurramkonda should:
- Review the new evidence and the wording currently published.
- Preserve the provenance of both the earlier and newer sources.
- Update the interpretation to reflect the strongest available evidence.
- Keep uncertainty or disagreement visible where the record remains unresolved.
The project does not claim academic peer review or institutional endorsement. No correction history is displayed unless an actual recorded correction exists.
